Hi Tom, thanks for your input on this. I can see where you are coming from and I will have a play around with them. Interestingly 'timeless' was the reason for B&W, so same wavelength there. Good to hear from you as always.

While I like monotone, I think I prefer the color shot of this Mr. Phil. The bright coloring in your next shot seems to better express a tropical feel to me. As you well know, we all go through different stages, and for b&w to be effective to my eye for this shot I think I'd prefer softer focusing with vignetting. It would convey a more "timeless" feel, I think. This is all subjective to the individual, of course, and more expresses my tiredness of pixel peeping digital-clarity. It may also have a bit to do with the buildings slant, which becomes more obvious without color. Nice to see the comparison, makes me look closer and think. Nice going.
