As you sail into Cartagena you are greeted by a very diverse landscape.
The old city, the high rise blocks of the modern era the poverty of the people
living in shacks on the shore line and the industrial world of thousands of containers in the port.

Our trip today takes us to the 'Swamp of the Virgin', These Mangrove Swamps are
one of the most important ecosystems of the area. We were guided through the swamps
in a native canoe, not the most stable of crafts, and our guide was obviously a learner
as we watched canoes around us serenely floating around whilst we were treated to what
appeared to be very rough seas.
