In the modern world of digital everything from toasters to supercomputers - I have to wonder whether all this digital stuff actually speeds things up or not? ...
The last couple of weeks have been a mental blurry whirlwind of one task or another ... today I got up at 6:30, got the bus to work and from the moment I opened Bill Gate's magic mailbox, I didn't stop rushing about, emails, phone calls, spreadsheets, Oracle databases, Visual basic .... AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!...
Finally snatched breakfast at 12:00 and had a break in the form of a game of 'Ping Pong' on the table we have at work. By 1pm I was back into it, dealing with "technical issues", comforting customers that didn't understand why a particular system had taken our list of instructions we were relying on and interpreted them as something else ... breaking it's promise of being infallable (the inherant expecation of something being of the digital age!)
and in what seemed like no time at all (even despite the ordeal of the usual cramped and uncomfortable public transport ride home) I arrived home to Kate, thouroughly lifeless, at 6:15pm.... ***sigh*** Thank God ...
