25_09_05 Engine Woes

Today I've spent half the day painting walls and the remainder of the day, well into the darkness, messing about with my car. I've had engine troubles that I just couldn't describe and it's been driving me mad...

Tonight I think I found the problem ... a bolt up rocker shaft that wasn't bolted up at one end ... not sure how it came loose but I've done it back up and it goes alot better despite still sounding 'tappety' so more TLC is still required i think....

This weekend has flown by just like the week really and I now feel hopelessly drained and ready for a rest .... back to work though.... I'll hopefully manage to find more time to devote to my photo's this week than I have this weekend....

I once had a rocker 'fall off' it's valve when one of those stock style clips came loose. It made a horrible noise. I thought it was the dreaded dropped valve. I waited 2 hours for a recovery truck to take me 200 miles home, arriving at 3 am. Then I found out I could have 'fixed' it in 2 minutes. Doh! Never had a problem with a bolt together shaft.
