The protestors were kept about 1/8 of a mile away from the ceremonial tent and one group wasn't even allowed to go to a public viewing area that would allow them to see a jumbotron type screen showing the events inside the 10,000+sq foot tent where the ceremony was held. The protestors were allowed to set up on the corner of Mockingbird and Airline road which had them situated where most of the shuttle buses that were bringing in the 3,000 invited guests had to go past them. There were many speakers at the event and even some counter-pro Bush people with signs who were trying to outshout the speakers with their sound system. Dallas Sheriffs Dept had a full equiped Riot Squad that came out and stopped about 30 protestors who tried to walk to a public viewing area that was set up outside the tent but it could be seen in the distance though not heard while the majority of the people stayed at the permitted protest site. Cindy Sheehan and her sister showed up and was visitng with a lot of the people from Texas who she had met in Crawford many times. Code Pink had several people there with their banners along with Veterand for Peace and several other antiwar anti-Bush/Cheney groups. I even saw one of the people carring Mr Bushe's Decision points book, they said that they wanted to read it and point out the lies within it.

There was a very large police presence in the area with officers from Dallas, Highland Park, SMU, Dallas County and even the US Secret Service.
