Don't Close Our Pools DALLAS!

This protest in front of City Hall in Dallas Texas on a hot August afternoon, though it sprinkled during the event, was against the city cutting back on the services that it offers it's tax paying citizens. It was directed more at the closing of most of the city's pools this year, though we have had over 25 days of 100 degree or hotter temps with heat index readings as high as 113, but it also brought up reduced hours at libraries, city rec centers, less help for the elderly and homeless (though they spent millions on THE BRIDGE facility-they like putting stuff up at City Hall) and other things across this city of over 1 million residents. The group did some street type theatre with one gentleman wearing a sign designating him as the MAYOR (who lives in a $4 mill home with his own pool) but they announced in advanced that they may go frolic in the reflecting pool in front of city hall-which brought out more than 10 Police and City Security to the scene to make sure that they didn't go into the pool. There were a few people looking down from the offices in City Hall to watch them but no one from the city came out to speak to them.

The "Mayor" at one point was told that he was all WET and several of the people doused him with Water.
