At this point in time the roof of the theatre had not yet been breached by the fire. When this back wall was pulled down in December the outside brick layer had bricks that were stamped Acme Brick Company Jan 8, 1924, since brick yards usually don't store bricks for a big project like this but start making them for a job the theatre probably was already under construction when the bricks were being fired at the Acme Plant. (No other date has been found on those bricks.
Also all of the inside walls of the buildings on the south end of the block were lined with Fire Bricks and then faced with the finish bricks as seen in this wall. This indicated a nicer fit and finish to the construction project since all sides of the theatre were visible to the passing public who parked in lots behind and next to the Theatre. The Texas Theatre which was built by Howard Hughes and is located in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas (where Lee Harvey Oswald was caught) has many of their outside walls not faced with finish brick but just shows that they used the fire brick as their wall. Some other theatres in the area built in the thirties had their outside walls as a finished plaster.
