That weekend is when the Dr Pepper Bottling Plant in Dublin celebrates it's birthday, over 115 now.

The Dublin Dr Pepper Plant is the only one in the US that still used Pure Cane Sugar in the Dr Pepper that it bottles on premises.

This is the 2008 Celebration

So they do a celebration with a footrace, tours of the bottling plant, naming a new Miss Peggy Pepper and a few other things around the small town south and west of Ft Worth.
