There were intermitent heavy winds which cancelled the gas ballon race, first time that it has occured, and also lead to a few accidents on and off the field. There were over 500 registered ballon teams from all over the world participating in 2009. Many shots are taken at around sunrise and the conditions were overcast on many mornings.
