The Scene in Dallas, Texas on Sunday afternoon after the 7-7-16 Shooting of Police by a Sniper

On Thursday evening 7-7-16 in Dallas Texas there was a peaceful Black Lives Matter March around downtown Dallas where it ended near WFFA Plaza close to sunset then all hell broke loose when a Sniper started shooting at Police. 14 people in all were shot 12 of whom were law officers and of the 12 hit 5 died either on the Streets of Dallas or in the Emergency wards of Baylor University Hospital or Parkland Hospital. The largest loss of law enforcement lives since 9/11 and possibly the most in Texas history outside of natural disasters.

The final confrontation between the sniper and the police occurred inside the El Centro Community College building on the second floor per the Dallas Police press Conference late Monday morning on 7/11/16. He stated that there were still other people in the building and they tried to get them all out before they sent in the remote robot that had one pound of C-4 explosives that were detonated to take the sniper out who had been shooting at them during the period of negotiations. There were at least two people who did not come out of their hiding places in the building until Friday morning.
I walked around the perimeter of the hot zone where FBI and ATF agents were still doing sweeps for evidence.

After leaving the area I went to the Dallas Police Headquarters on Lamar St to photograph the tribute to the injured and dead officers who were all either Dallas Police or Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police where a police car representing the two departments were covered in notes, cards, flowers and balloons. There were news agency representatives from all over Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Missouri along with US National Networks and one group from Australia doing live reports from the scene.
