Question: do you still recommand removing AA fonction filter to increase the crispness?

Would putting a clear piece of glass in, as per Origné Alain's suggestion, keep the focus correct? The thickness is one thing but the refractive index of the different type glass is surely another?

Were you able to get this working well Pete? I have started taking my spare 5D to pieces but don't want to dabble in vain! I have already lost the tiny spring for the Anti Shake mechanism!!

Hi Pete, I would like to modify my Dynax 7D (european Maxxum)for IR photography by replacing the IR cut filter. As far as I can see the IR cut filter and the anti aliasing filters are very thick. I would like to keep the camera as well focused than in the visible range and to do that I wonder if you could tell me how thick are the filter in front of the CCD. That means that I need an additional clear filter to be mounted with the Hoya IR filter. Thanks for all the job you have done! Alain from Marseille- France...Europe.
