The center is drilled out or cut out with a coping saw.
For a shorter and stronger adapter, cut off the flat end of the lens cap
(you can cut off about a quarter inch) Then trim the center of the body cap to fit the trimmed lenscap. Then apply cement and insert the lens cap into the body cap.
