A 2" PVC coupling can be modified as a quick release mandrel.
This allows thin rings to be turned on both sides. No distortion from lathe jaws.
One side was turned down to within 3/8" of the center ridge. ABS cement was applied and allowed to dry for a very tight fit that resists slippage.
