The photo was done by taking 196 separate 30-second exposures of the night sky over close to a two-hour time period
The individual exposures were then combined into one photo using computer software
Like I said, this was my first time and unfortunately the seven-second gap I left between exposures was long enough to show up in the combined photo making some of the resulting startrails look like dotted lines
I would have also liked to have had the camera pointing north to get a more interesting rotating startrail effect but I did not have a good sightline to the north
And, unfortunately, there really wasn't much other than trees to put in the foreground to give the photo perspective
One interesting point is the meteor streak in the bottom left
But for a first try, I'm fairly happy with the result and I can't wait to try other startrail photos
