My son Terry is building a house. He is using local materials and techniques employed by early Texas settlers. He has harvested cedar trees and had them milled, and salvaged native stone around the Fredericksburg, Texas area. He has built a barn and other outbuildings, working up to building the house. He started the house in 2002.

It is especially amazing when you realize that Terry brought every rock onto his land himself, lifted every one into place....cut down every tree that he is using.
