We had a free afternoon in Florence and one of my friends suggested we get on a train and go Pisa. I am so glad we did. I did find the tower to be one of the most difficult things to photograph....it is leaning. No surprise....but how do you show that....anyway, this was taken right before sunset, time of that magical light. Tomorrow I will post a photo with the tower silhouetted against the lovely sunset.
There is so much here besides the tower. No words can describe the cathedral, started in the year 1063, and the baptistry is beautiful and there was a cemetery that was also indiscribable. By the way, I didn't climb the tower. The walk from the train station was enough for me.
The West Facade
The flag visible to the right of the
dome is on the top of the bell tower.
