Today was the ninetieth birthday of a very special man in my life. He is my friend, my uncle, my godfather….and according to him, my Mom’s favorite baby brother. She named him “Bunny” when he was a little boy and we still call him Uncle Bunny. He lives alone, is active in his church, drives his car, mows his own lawn and best of all takes me out to lunch. I watched with admiration as he cared for his beloved wife, my Aunt Pearl in her final illness. A very special man….he is a father of three, grandfather of nine and great-grandfather to ten (I think).
