I issued a challenge to myself today:

1. No photo from the butterfly garden.
2. Use the 4500. (I'm am getting much too spoiled with Vernon's D2h).

So, here it is. I walked onto the back porch and he was just waiting for me.
I hope he enjoyed my view as much as he enjoyed munching on my hibiscus.

Of all insects, grasshoppers are the ones I LOVE the most! This looks like a Schistocera from here, but could be wrong. (Should be about +/- 3 inches long.) Good sharp image. You can clearly get the antennal segmentation, and even see the eye stripes! v

Ewwww! Of all insects, grasshoppers are the ones I hate the most! Did you know they crunch when you step on them? My grandma taught me that. Anyway, great shot!
