Wimberley, Texas

ARGIOPE SPIDER, COMMON NAME GARDEN SPIDER

Occupational Hazard: While taking this photo I was leaning on a
decorative wood fence to get closer to the spider.
I heard and felt something snap, a rib maybe?
Not to worry, it only hurts when I breathe deep.

I just read Gayle's comment, and don't worry, it really is not bad.
I would have a doctor check it out if I thought so.
HAPPY SIXTEENTH ANNIVERSARY LISA AND OSCAR

Aren't spiders usually all brown and yucky? Maybe that's just in California! Great capture. Hope you're feeling better.

Awesome capture of this spider. I also would have that rib checked if it hurts for more then 48 hours. GMV

Oh, Petesie! Take care of that rib!!! But you got a winner in the process! Amazing macro, even if an 'ICK' spider, and a stunning web! I don't think I could hold my hands still if I saw that spider! ;-) Great shot! Vote! (Let us know how you're doing!!)

Aaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhh. That's some monster... enough to keep me out of Texas!

Ok...this is absolutely the best "web" shot I've ever seen...GMV. As for your rib...take 600mg Ibuprofen every 6 to 8 hours. It'll not only alleviate the pain but reduce inflammation as well. No charge ;-)

Great catch if a little expensive.

Now that's one fine looking Argiope. Usually one can see the stabilimentum but the rest of the web is just a hint. Very nicely done.

Great image, hope your back is OK
