I know this little crab spider is probably waiting to grow up
and eat one of my butterflies.....but he is very, very small, and at
the moment I don't have many butterflies. Actually, I'm guessing
that with our almost 100 degree heat, he has hot feet right now.

He is on a Purple Coneflower.

I love cone flowers... I am less enthusiastic about spiders of any variety. But, that said, this is a wonderful photo with great bokeh. By the way, I took a few shots of some butterflies just for you the other day. I have been so bad about processing the photos I take lately so alas, the butterflies are flapping their wings in obscurity right now. I will let you know when I get them processed. Saw my first spicebush swallowtail last week.

My my, I probably should have written all this in pmail rather than here on your photo. Sorry about that Ms. Petesie

Ohhh, very cool shot....interestingly, the day after you told me my shot was of a crab spider, our local paper had an article on them. Interesting little fellows!

I so love your garden images! I'd worry less about my hot feet and more about my pokey bottom if I were him.

They amaze me with their speed & ability to bring much larger insects to their knees. Super macro image Petesie. Voting

There's your steady hand again. Wonderful shot. Reminds me of lighted candles on a cake.
