LEST WE FORGET.....

Today I attended the VFW commemoration of Memorial Day at the Wimberley cemetery.
Mr. Sharp is one of the very nicest men in Wimberley.
I got to know him when I helped John on his Meals on Wheels route.
Today I asked him about his service to our country.
He said he flew 35 missions over Germany in World War II…..34 were round trips.
On the 35th he was shot down over Belgium.

Another gentleman told me to come to the VFW and see the exhibit dedicated to Mr. Sharp.
Mr. Sharp told me that his uniform is on display, but that the shirt had shrunk and no longer fits him......
sense of humor intact in this very special gentleman.

P.S. My camera is all well...

Beautiful! Love your perspective here! I just rented "Schindler's List" to watch with my children so the horror of that war will not be forgotten. This one gets my vote, girl!

Where would we be without servicemen like Mr Sharp. Nice picture and nice sentiments. Here's to all the servicemen and women of all nations who saved us from fascism.
