12-MAY-2005 29 days to go

05/12/05

OK, no chance for anything but macro today again. John had a bad night,
but is a bit better this afternoon.
These spotted cucumber beetles may be cute, but they are really decimating my
garden. Last year I think I saw one all year, but they are everywhere this year. I
think I'll have to get some beneficial nematodes....I don't use any pesticides.
You can see below what they are doing to the hibiscus.
Taking this reminded me of the movie MicroCosmos....recommended to me by Liza (snootydog).
A fabulous movie of bugs. Just came out in DVD, too.

Ooh, way too many bugs for me ... but he is beautiful against the brilliant orange. He knows where to stand for a photo ... :)

Well he may be a "pest", but he sure makes a pretty accent for the orange flower. Glad to hear John's doing better, today.

Glad John is better now.
At least you made a beautiful image out of the destructive little guys..

Such detail! I didn't know they were destructive. I saw a few here for the first time last year. Take care of yourself, too.

Beautifull light and details!!! Great shot!

Hard to believe these cute little bugs can cause such destruction. This is an awesome orange Petesie-the little crittter just melds right in. Both are excellent shots.
Hope John continues to improve.
