I probably should do an AnnLT "what is this"....but I'll tell you.
It is a Catkin, a horrible tassel (about two inches long) that is the male flower of our
oak trees that are busy reproducing and DRIVING ME CRAZY! The entire world
around here is covered with greenish yellow pollen.....cars are the worst, and
if you sit down outside you'd better wipe the chair first. The tassels look
like green worms, get in your hair, on your clothes, on your shoes and then are
dragged in. I could blow off the porches and deck twice a day and still they would
be everywhere. I love our Oaks, just not for these few weeks. So I've vented now, and
I know they will be gone soon, but none too soon! I got rid of my frustrations by
curving them...see below, and up close they look rather interesting.
(Sorry, it was really a very dull photo day.)

You know Petesie everytime I look at your macros I wonder why you would want a bigger " better " camera ?? I doubt you would get anymore perfection, & I mean that honestly.

I understand your frustration, glad you were able to get it out of your system. You did a good job on this macro.

Very nice!

That is the one pollen I'm most allergic to. You've made it look rather wicked and rightfully so!

Thanks for doing such a macro of that, Petesie. I have to give a report on Live Oaks at the State Convention of Garden Clubs tomorrow. Can I copy this to use?

Yes it is that time of the year when the world gets a yellow ting. Have no fear it will be over before you know it.

The pollen might be annoying but the photo came out great.

It'll be here before we're ready, and I refuse to do the windows til it's done! ( So I have dirty windows for a while. ha!) You did good taking out your frustrations with PS.
