THE STORY OF TWO CAKES

I got up early this morning because I had a group of ladies coming, my
Stitchery Group....actually not all of them stitch, but we have fun meetings.
I made a fresh apple cake...after putting it in the oven I tasted the batter and
thought it tasted salty....oops, I used self-rising flour. I said a bad word and my
first thought was, "Coleen wouldn't say that!"...but I made another cake and that was
not a small task....(it called for two cups of chopped apples and I did it twice!)
I had more sour cream, outdated, but how sour can sour cream get, right?
When I got the second cake in the oven I was afraid that I left out the baking soda....LOL...
So I had two cakes baked before eight o'clock....both of them not quite right, but at
least John slept late! All I kept thinking was I would like to share this story with all of you...and realized that
you have become a part of my life, even if we have not met and that is a good thing.

The first cake was salty and really puffy and pretty, the second was a bit flat, but
everyone loved it! Thanks for being a part of my early morning fiasco, everyone, even if
you didn't know it!

Wonderful story, Petesie. LOL "Coleen wouldn't say this". We have a stitchery group, except we're called the quilting group. I have made a quilt for three of my four children (and I'm not sure "poor Kevin" will ever get one). Some of the women quilt, some just eat and talk, but that's o.k., we've solved problems in our lives and the world many a day.

LOL....I started laughing when I read " how sour can sour cream get!"
I'm glad everyone love it! Wish I were there to eat it too!

Wonderful, Petesie! One to leave unsliced for looks and one to eat. This sounds like fun.
