My son came for a visit today and we spent quite a bit of time
in the butterfly garden.... http://www.pbase.com/petesie/image/35985712
I had so many choices today, but we were both fascinated with this bug.
I looked it up and it is called a Wheel bug, and one book says it is beneficial.
I know it is UGLY. I photographed many pretty things and they are in my reject
gallery, including a SP, a Monarch, a Gray Hairstreak, and a Monarch larva. Quite a fun day!

He is a good bug though I think he may be good at eating caterpillars as well I think the Japanese Beetle that plagues rose growers in the States.
I found an interesting article you may like to read Petesie <http://www.uky.edu/Agriculture/Entomology/entfacts/trees/ef426.htm

As always you have captured this perfectly in full detail.

You have the coolest bugs, Petesie! This one looks like he's decked out in armour, that underside side of him is fascinating.
