The only way I was able to have a butterfly garden was
to build an eight foot fence to keep the deer out. I
decided to do it up right, and I'd call it an outdoor
room, now. This year I wanted a spot to sit in the
evening and watch our Purple Martins so I fixed up the
area between the garden and the house. I would love to have
it enclosed, but it is over the septic tank. So I just
used deer resistant plants in containers. I've really
enjoyed the area, and the butterflies visit there, too.
