I leave the thistles because the butterflies love them.
John would not allow one on our property so he wouldn't be happy with me.
I find them fascinating when they start seeding....and I'm afraid I'll have quite a few next year.....
but I'll also have happy butterflies.

Well, if you are getting happy butterflies, then you can have a whole garden of them. I think they are beautiful even if they are weeds!
