Wrist watches, precision mechanical watches. Not so long ago these were modern, precise, stylish and practical. Made by skilled craftsmen of tiny precision parts and powered by a spring. Now they are obsolete. The replacements are clearly better time pieces, inexpensive, incredibly accurate and durable, with features like alarms, stop-watch, lap timers, water proof and more. Like so many recent products, they are superior by every objective measure but lack the character and artistry of the predecessor.
