This PBY Catalina flew into Oak Harbor Sept 18th for a week long visit. The Seaplane Base portion of Naval Air Station Whidbey Island was built to service these airplanes. It has been 60 years since a PBY has roared up the launch ramp at the Seaplane Base. This aircraft fully operational and is currently used to fight wild fires in eastern Washington. "They don't make'em like this this any more".
