March 9

I drove to the Skagit delta before dawn expecting fields of blooming daffodils but no blooms yet. I continued on and had the good fortune to find this huge flock of Snow geese, trip rewarded! This flock covered about 5 acres altogether. They were digging down into the mud foraging and very noisy.
