This barn is about 100 years old and is a reminder of how much things change. Structures this size are not built of wood any more and they don't have gracefully arched roofs. I can only imagine how many man-hours of skilled labor were required to build it and the importance it once had to the owner. There are few carpenters that would know how to build something like this any more. This was a cattle barn, probably a dairy herd, livestock at ground level and winter feed stored above.
