The Gaslamp Quarter is a historical part of downtown San Diego, stretching along 5th Av from Broadway in the north to Harbor in the south. Developed during the late 19th century, it fell into decay during the mid-20th century. Redevelopment started in 1976. It is now a major entertainment and tourist district, featuring many restaurants, bars and specialty shops.
