Located on the northeast corner of St. Peter's Basilica, just west of the Pietà.
On the bottom is the tomb of Innocent XI.
On the right is a memorial of Pius XI, who oversaw the negotiation of the 1929 Lateran Treaties with Benito Mussolini which recognizes the sovereign independence of the Holy See.
