Cape Sounion - Temple of Poseidon

Located at Cape Sounion 69 km southeast of Athens at the southernmost tip of the Attica peninsula is the Temple of Poseidon with a view of the sea on three sides. The original temple was probably destroyed in 480 BC by Persian invaders under Xerxes. The current temple dated back to 440 BC.
We visited it as a half-day trip.
