Don't worry Fotis, the Netherlands hasn't forgotten what they suffered at the hands of their neighbors, but at the same time are possibly some of the most Christian of nations in practice (and humbly so), actually living their faith (by and large) without going to extremes on that front either, avoiding being zealots. Mind you, entire cities (i.e., Rotterdam), and countless towns and villages were utterly smashed flat or horribly scarred by war, yet the Dutch have remarkably embraced peace and the best of both old and new, rather than feeding hatred and dwelling on the past, and despite the best efforts of their former enemies to do otherwise.

That is something we could all learn a thing or two from I think...

I disagree with the comment below ... soldiers are soldiers the world alike ... they don't reflect politics but are merely the tools of politicians. These German soldiers were obviously enjoying some leisure time and enjoying the little girls's company. In all likelihood, most of these soldiers in this photo probably eventually became casualties of the war themselves.

coming from a country that suffered thousands of dead and four years of occupation, i find this a disgrace...
