Black-backed Kingfisher

Kaengkrachan National Park, Thailand

For the 3rd consecutive year this little jewel is breeding at Kaengkrachan. Very hard to spot outside of breeding season but equally easy to get close to (using a blind) when breeding.

I have an injured one with torn wing sitting next to me. Help! The poor little thing may not be able to fly for awhile. What do I feed him? Please get back to me ASAP. Thanks! Dawn

Beautiful little bird. Had one on my balcony this morning, he must have flown into my black glass windows. Up and away after about 6 hours, fortunatly. (Koh Samui)
