The Nikon V1 with updated firmware is ready to accept the ft1 mount. First four shots are taken with the 300mm f4 with tripod, then some with the 500. With a little searching the autofocus functions relatively well and the images are quite good. Great for high magnification at a lower budget. First tryes indicate that the combo is not good for birds in flight since it won't accept CONTINUOUS focusing. However, the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 vr1 is the perfect combo and enables pretty sharp photos of birds in flight, best with a tripod but also can be handheld.
