I've lived in Frederick, MD since June 2010, and in finding my way around, I've discovered that the city and surrounding areas are LOADED with some amazing locations, cool things to see, and general photo-friendliness. As with many of my location galleries, this one will be ever-growing.

"Isabella," stack #2, the only one remaining at Catoctin Furnace, as seen from inside the casting shed.

The most commonly photographed view of Catoctin Furnace, and the view most used by travel and official guides.
This field once housed numerous buildings.
Isabella at her full height of 33 feet.
The chimney in the remains of the Catoctin ironmaster's house.

A trompe l'oeil (French for "deceive the eye" or "trick the eye") statue on Carroll Creek. This is actually flat concrete.
