Robins' Nest

This album is a documentary of 3 baby robins that hatched in our yard.
You can see them grow in size, often double overnight.

Robins will nest twice or three times a year. Hatchlings will fly in about 2 weeks. Normally the nest is located 5–15 ft above the ground and it is unusual for the nest to be so low. Nesting close to humans, however, is not so uncommon. The nest is abandoned right after the first flight.

The biggest dangers to the hatchlings are from cats (our Jumanji was not let out until the nest was empty), squirrels, hawks, snakes. Several birds such as blue jays or crows will go after the eggs.
