It was the warmest nicest Thanksgiving day we have ever experiences, temps in mid 60ties, blue skies, true Colorado fall day.
We spotted 3 bald eagles on our walk in the neighborhood park.
2 were soaring and doing magnificent aerial acrobatics. From what we could see, one of them was an immature (some imi plumage still showing). So this seemed to be a parent-child playing in the air. I believe the aerial courtship rituals between adults are not due until late winter.
I had only a 300mm zoom on me and the birds were high up, so the resolution is maxed out. This image had to be cropped quite a bit. Still is best to view it as ORIGINAL to avoid PBASE resizing which makes the image look very soft.
Bald eagles come over to spend winter around here. Some nest in this area, I cannot say if this one is just wintering or is a permanent visitor.
Iza has also seen Golden Eagle right next to our house, but we have no picture to prove it.
