Pika does not hibernate, stays active during winter. It needs to prepare for the long harsh winter in the alpine tundra.
It sun dries its food (grasses and other vegetation) and stores the hay for winter. I remember reading that Pika collects certain flower and uses it as preservative. Can't remember its name.
