Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) is located just south of Walden, CO. It is part of a valley surrounded by snow capped mountains: Rabbit Ears Mountains and Never-Summer Range to the south Medicine Bow to the East and North, Park Range to the west. It is mostly a wetland area with slow moving streams.
We visited on a windy day, despite all this wetness we got blasted with sand. Sand and dust everywhere. Moose habitat, yes we have seen moose cross the road.
These are early spring views, the nature just started waking up.

[PL] Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge. Reserwat polozony na polnoc i na zachod on nas. Jakies 3-3 ½ godziny jazdy samochodem. Usytuowany w dolinie otoczonej wysokimi pasmami gorskimi. Dolina ma dostatek wody. Mozna zobaczyc Losie (widzielismy). Bylsmy tam w wietrzny dzien, woda czy nie woda, dmuchalo kurzem i piasekiem. Scenic Rt 14 goes up the canyon carved by Poudre River (pronounced in Colorado Poo-der). Droga do Reserwatu prowadzi przez malowniczy kanjon rzeki Poudre. Zdjecia wczesnej wiosny - przyroda zaczyna sie budzic.
