Farthest Frontier is a complex real-time strategy game with a complex economic element that transports us to a world inspired by the European Middle Ages. Mechanics

In Farthest Frontier, players take on the role of administrator of a settlement located on the outskirts of the explored world. Our task is to guide its development, transforming a small village composed primarily of wooden buildings into a thriving city.

During the game, we are tasked with numerous responsibilities. We oversee the extraction of resources, which we use to construct various structures. Over fifty structures await construction – from houses and public buildings, through various workshops (capable of crafting over sixty unique items) and warehouses, to defensive structures such as barracks, where we recruit soldiers (the soldiers must be appropriately equipped), watchtowers, and palisades (replaced by stone walls as we progress). The latter are important because, over time, our settlement begins to attract the attention of enemies hoping for easy loot. Furthermore, production buildings can be upgraded to increase their capabilities.

Food acquisition also plays a crucial role here. Agriculture primarily provides food for our subjects (although hunting and fishing are also worth considering). During the game, we decide which crops will be grown in each field, while ensuring crop rotation prevents soil depletion.

After meeting the needs of our residents, we can also consider selling surplus resources and finished products. It's worth remembering that these goods have different values ​​in different regions.

Things are getting dangerous

Even if we do everything right, various external factors can take their toll on our settlement. Heat or frost (as well as hungry deer) can destroy even the most well-tended crops, bears pose a threat not only to the inhabitants but also to food storage facilities, and groundwater can dry up if we overdo the felling of trees.



As if that weren't enough, the settlement is threatened by more than a dozen different diseases. Lack of access to clean water can lead to an outbreak of dysentery or cholera, failure to provide subjects with appropriate clothing and footwear exposes them to tetanus or rabies, and failure to control rats (the number of which increases with the amount of waste on the streets and the poorer our ability to secure stored food) can lead to a plague epidemic.

Technical Issues

Farthest Frontier features colorful and detailed graphics. The buildings are rich in detail, the surroundings are densely covered with vegetation, and the seasons change over time; a daily cycle is also implemented here.
