Love this - I find abstracts so hard to get right but this is technically perfect and works so well in B&W.

Thanks Arn, the background on which the droplet sat is a stainless steel tap in my bathroom :) Other shots with DOF at F16 made the background more obvious but didn't look as good. Abstract seemed better. I was considering a Macro lens but have had the tubes for years & have been very happy with the results. 12mm, 20mm & 36mm in any combination gives good control over magnification (up to 1.5:1 on 50mm lens so better than a macro lens)and lighter than a macro lens to carry :) Brett

Brett, this is great. Good idea, the b&w and lighting really works, as does the composition / DOF. How's that 50mm + extension tubes working for your macros? I'm wondering whether to get some extension tubes for my 50mm and save some $/€'s or whether to get a proper 1:1 macro lens. Btw, what's on the backround of the pic? Sorry about all them questions... ;) -Arn
