This bog is a marvellous area within the city of London. Lots of photo opportunities I've ignored far too long. Narrow boardwalks run through this area, making it difficult to set up a tripod due to the number of people using the area on a sunny day.

Deer are in abundance in this special area. The clear channel near the trees is a causeway for the muskrats travelling back and forth, which is what drew my attention to this scene. The bog is extremely deep with moss, rare vegetation, and covers a few acres on the edge of London. These conditions can change from year to year, with 2010 as a dry bog in this same area.

Developers are constantly trying to get the city to change the bylaw prohibiting housing and other development of this rare area. An on going fight - to which a small area was granted to allow condos to be built near the main road extending back to the edge of the bog area.

In typical fashion where the making of money is paramount - and even though the cost of one of these condos is very high - they are an eyesore. No consideration of design to blend or contribute to the beauty of this area. A gated, modern designed community where the garage is presented to onlooker as the centre point of the living quarters. The inhabitants going about their daily business without a second thought as to their impact on the area visibly, or morally.
