My personal view is that black and white is pure photography. There are no colour distractions. A true interplay with the light and shadow, with all the tonality of the grey scale. Photos are best viewed in Original size.

B&W film allows the use of specialty filters to help create the moods, tones, or textures visualized by the creative mind before the shutter is depressed. It is a true art form in that context.
