Rachel Lake and Lila Lake are located in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness of Washington State.
Overnight backpack on 9/3/2010. Trail to Rachel is 4 miles up with 1800 ft elevation gain (feels more like 2500, but who am I to measure?) Lila is about a mile further and another 800 ft or so in elevation. In the end, the sweetness to effort ratio was pretty high. I don't have any photos of the trail itself, the 50d is so heavy and cumbersome to stop, unpack it, snap a photo, pack it up, put backpack back on. I'm definitely in the market for a point-and-shoot, now more than ever.
