PhotoM is a fast and simple yet powerful image viewer for Macs.

Select:
• Drag & drop, select files and folders or open an image file to view.

View:
• Choose the level of controls and metadata you want.
• Where image geo coordinates are available, view the image location on map.

Advanced functions:
• Define your own EXIF extraction rules
• Select additional image file types, including RAW formats
• Culling support: deselect and export images
• Filtering content based on facial expressions: number of faces in the image, open eye, visible mouth and/or smile

Version 1.1

Robustness
• image file is validated to exist before presenting it. Deleting image after selection crashed the app when trying to view non-existing image
• logging is based on Apple OSLog service

Version 1.2

• Zoom: the Browse View has a new button 🔍 to zoom into the current image. Controls are opened for selecting the zoom ratio (1:1 to 1:3) and the zoomed part of the total image.
• The list of image file types is now configurable. The default list is JPEG, PNG, HEIC and TIFF, but it can be extended by PDF, EPS, TIFF, JPEG, JPEG-2000, GIF, PNG, PICT, DIB and Apple supported raw file formats, or items may be removed from the list.


Note: version 1.2 requires macOS 13.0 or later.


Version 1.3

• Content filtering based on facial expressions: number of faces in image, open eyes, visible mouth and/or smile
• Culling: deselect images and copy selected images with optional file name modifier to the designated export directory
• Deep directory selection: optionally include subdirectories in the selection


Version 2.0

Ease of use:
• Arrow keys for next, previous, first and last image no longer require but accept the Command ⌘-key.
• New full screen mode (⌘Show) without cursor or command buttons. Press escape to display command buttons and escape again to resume windowed display.
• Maximum size option is replaced by using zoom with 1.0 ratio.
New functionality: XMP/IPTC data summary added to the Extended EXIF.
Pricing change: one time charge for the permanent license
