Moon at Perigee

Tucson, AZ

Here's a shot of the Moon, just hours past full, at perigee (the closest it will get in its elliptical orbit of the Earth).

This shot was taken at 1400 mm focal length (2,240mm effective, considering 1.6x crop factor of 30D), using a Canon 500mm f/4 lens plus a 1.4x TC and a 2x TC. This was the first time I have used this combination.

This is one of the best shots I've seen without using a telescope.

If you were using the 30D, because of the 1.6x crop body, the 35mm equivalent focal length would have been 2,240mm.

That point aside, this is an amazing shot! I envy your kit.
