Taking in the expanse of Ubehebe with the snow-capped Grapevine Mountains in the far distance.
For those that have commented on the size, there are some people in this image for scale. A lone
hiker is on the trail nearest the bottom middle of the frame, and there is actually a group of 4 hikers
right at the third bend in the trail beyond the lone hiker. I could see myself making that trek if the
conditions were better: a cloudy blue sky overhead and a fisheye looking up to catch everything.
Death Valley National Park is huge. We typically drove 200 - 250 miles each day. On this particular
day (the 255 mile trip) we started with a sunrise at Zabriskie Point, then into the valley to Devil's Golf Course
and onto Badwater Salt Flat, then a long drive north to Ubehebe, and back to Mesquite Dunes for sunset.
This is a merge of 5 exposures for HDR.
